You will probably have to loosen your hex tuners off a bit and then adjust the knee lever travel screw, only adjust this very slightly, maybe one turn then tighten your hex tuners up again and retune |

If it is an all pull guitar, loosen any hex nut all the way loose that effects the 4th and 8th string such as E to Ed.....E to F .......C pedal E to F# or any other pedal or lever that effects these strings to where any of these pedals and knee lever will not engage the 4th and 8th string.
Then tune the 4th and 8th string to open E.Then one at a time retune the pedals and knee levers. Keep checking with the tuner to open E after you adjust the hex nut on and pedal or lever.
I would start there first to see if that gets you in the ball park as sometimes the hex nuts gets over tightened. Hopefully the strings are somewhat new?
Had this happen to me early on so its a good place to start. |

Len makes a good point...It's worth putting on anew set of strings before you start altering things as they may just fix the problem |

Wayne,I have had the same problem and had tried all the suggestions. It wasn't until I turned it upside down and found one of the screws holding the lever assembly had pulled out of the body. Fixing that solved the problem. Worth a look. _________________ Carter Universal,Quilter Steelaire combo,
