Everybody,

Since no one knows what gear I own, I thought it would be fun to see who comes close to nailing down my steel, amp, volume-pedal brands & models, and how I tune up . . . in a blindfold test!

Here are my tracks; may the best ears win:

Hope it's not too obvious Smile Mark

Not a ZB or Bud, probably not Franklin. Anything else can't be ruled out.
Peavey, probably N400 or N1000. A bit more reverb (and do I hear delay as well?) than I'd like.
Probably a passive pedal.
You can play in tune, and that trumps tuning regimen.

Wow, thanks for trying! You're all good sports and better at discerning gear than I am, but nobody's nailed it yet . . . one guy's scary close, though.

You figured out my tuning system right off: JI, by ear.

Let's give it the weekend to see if we have a winner, then I'll upload a snap on Monday, along with the steel's cool pedigree & provenance, if you're interested Smile

This sound service is not connected to Facebook, as far as I can tell. It's hosted on AWS for one thing. Facebook has their own servers.

I'll bite. To me it sounds like a Carter SD-10, a Webb amp, an active volume pedal (maybe Hilton?), and a Boss digital delay pedal. In the likely event that I'm wrong, I bet I could get the same tone by twisting knobs on the gear I've listed. Razz

A couple of guys are nippin' at my heels . . . close to nailing it!

If anyone figures out the axe & amp exactly, by Monday, I'll send him an unopened deck of Golden Nugget-branded poker cards--from the Vegas casino--the best I can do Smile

You busted me on the volume pedal, though: it's a 1950s passive Fender spaghetti-logo string & roller model.

You are running direct. With way too much delay with reverb on it.
Just for grins I'll call it.
Zum (Stage One or Encore), Kemper, JI. Passive pedal. Effects onboard your software program or emulator.

Addendum...could be the reverb in the POD XT. Your pickups are wound to 18k. Give or take .5. You are using Newman finger picks and a herco thumb pick. You are sitting on a Steel Seat. The PSG is sitting on hardwood. Sounds like there is a dog to your right. Maybe two. And you live shouting distance from Clint Black.
