Here's a shot at still another nice ride by Steve P. off Gary Stewart's "Live at Billy Bob's" CD.
Here it is on youtube, the steel break starts at about 2:48

Oops...thanks, Ricky - at least I didn't accidentally post an adult video I edited the original post for the video and the title (it just said "Quits" on the CD) |

Everybody - do yourselves a favour and search out the original by Danny O'Keefe. Can't remember if there's psg on it or not, (no matter) but this version does not do the song justice at all. This is not a comment on the steel playing, just the interpretation of the song. _________________ Ben-Rom #017 'Lorelei', Guild D25, Epiphone 'Joe Pass', Roland 40XL, Hilton VP

Jeff - thank you so much for posting these tabs - they're really fun and helpful.
Alan - I also like Danny's original - it's beautiful, no question. But for me Gary Stewart's studio version off of his "Steppin' Out' album takes the cake. Haunting! Great playing by Weldon (if I remember correctly) and the crew in the studio..... Gary's voice was so much stronger then. |

Danny O'Keefe has Sneaky Pete on steel. ("Sneaky Strings" is written on the credits) and Linda Ronstadt singing harmony. _________________ Fender Kingman, Sierra Crown D-10, Evans Amplifier, Soup Cube. |
