Ok forum members..I can get a Peavey renown amp chasis
for about 50 dollars working nice shape...I have a peavey kb300 that I could simply plug the renown amp into..using the kb300 speaker cabinet only..which is a 15" speaker and horn...I also have a Rickenbacker rs-75
bass amp that just died with a 15" speaker...unfortunitly the peavey renown amp chasis is 1.5 inches to wide for Rickenbacker cabinet..I could easily make a "head cabinet" out of the Peavey renown..Is it worth the effort..can the renown 400 make a decent steel amp??

Lloyd Green once told me that he had owned a Renown 115 amplifier with a Peavey Black Widow and it was the best amplifier sound that he had heard. Might be worth a try, but remember that every part of an amplifier will effect the final sound.

I have an all original Renown 115. It is indeed a nice sounding amp... I'm hoping to try a tube preamp with it at some point. Might be a real winner.
