This might sound random, but has anyone worked with a stage production crew (equipment, sound, etc.) that carries?? _________________ --carl

I carried in a few of the "punch palaces" we played at. Weight's Ballroom, Bridge Tavern. I had clips in my old steel seat folding my Ruger under the lid. _________________ Dr. Z Surgical Steel amp, amazing!

Ever use it for sound effects??
The manager mentioned that there's always the possibility of playing in a rough area. I guess so.
Now I see why I was told not to step on the toes of the production guys _________________ --carl

Used a starter's pistol once in a club just for the effect. Our singer was actress Amy Madigan. The band was Methyl thyl and The Ketones. The club freaked out. Most people dived for the floor. The owner told us to never do it again! Frank Zappa loved the story! _________________ Dr. Z Surgical Steel amp, amazing!

Ha! Methyl Ethyl & Ketones. Work a lot? Make good money? I mean.... was the band solvent?
I don't know about production crews, but one of the dives I used to play in had crazy owners. The old lady shot a .357 Magnum through the roof one night. |

I'm guessing they got along well - sounds like the band had good chemistry. |

No, but one time a drunk club owner was dancing in front of me as I was playing steel. He pulled out a gun and pointed it at my chest! He got a good laugh out of that. |
You would have had my permission to wet your pants..
I'm not crazy about guns and I hope the guy on the crew is smart about it. Yes,, it can be seen as just another tool, but unfortunately it's one that can kill a lot of people when in the wrong hands.. _________________ --carl

Wouldn't a rifle be better? As the thief is slowly walking away with your D-10 you can run up behind him and trip him with the rifle barrel.. _________________ --carl

Methyl Ethyl an The Ketones was a very good band band in the Miilwaukee area.. A MOI style band. Of course Amy Madidigan has gone on to a have a wonderful acting career. _________________ Dr. Z Surgical Steel amp, amazing!

Years ago in a club in Waterloo Iowa where I was working the bar owner was waving his 38 in front of my face. I told him to please knock it off because of the danger of it going off. He said not to worry it wasn't loaded. Then he pointed towards the floor and it went off. I could have wrung his neck. |
