Well I spoke with the owner and he filled me in. If i remember correctly He told me the pickups were made by a gentleman by the name of Lyn who used to work for sho bud. He wound these pickups on a home made winder built from two turntables. The metal end caps are to prevent the pickups from lifting at the end like older sho bud pickups tend to do
