It looks like he's really smacking those strings. He appears to be using the technique where you use the outside of your hand at the harmonic point and strike the string ahead of it. But it also sounds like he's using compression or some other effect to get them to ring like that.

To me it looks like the normal palm harmonics.

He's just good at them (although he blew a couple of them), and could vary his attack with his thumb.

Standard palm harmonics, the old guys were masters at this. And no, no compression is needed when you have skill. Winking

I'm making it my next to learn the steel parts in this song. It'll keep me busy for a while. I really like the flow of it and how it still has feeling to it despite being so fast.

I'll probably have to learn palm harmonics, which is a good thing.
