Just out of curiousity I am wondering if Zum, Mullen, etc still have their first Steel. I still have the first Pedesonic I built but, I didn't keep the first Wood body Steel. As I recall I used OAK for the body, and a CARVIN PU. Ed Naylor Steel Guitar Works |

I used plywood for this one. It's 2layers thick. And this is the first so it is a prototype and i will not sell this one.Everybody tells me that they never would make a guitar from plywood but what the hey ...i will give it a try.

Actually Ron, some folks that I have a good deal of respect for prefer the sound of good plywood (dieboard) to maple. Dieboard is a type of plywood that has no defects and seems to be a good choice for steel guitar bodies. |

I do not have the first steel I ever built, it is still being played by another owner to this day. I did manage to get back the 3rd guitar or so I built.

Bill Rudolph told me that his first crossover prototype is now his personal guitar. |
