Rickenbacker (RickenbaCHer) B6 T- Logo Electro bakelite laps steel guitar in very good original condition with unusual black plates (these rarely come up for sale) and two blond knobs. I think of this model as one the "Darth Vader" Rickenbackers.
1.25 inch wide pick-up. . Missing two pearl dot markers. NO CASE. Both pots work well but are scratchy when turned with the amp on. When they are not turned, there is no scratchy noise so they should be cleaned with DeOxit or some such product. There is one replacement tuner on string 5. It is slightly shorter and the metal is a slightly different shape than the other five. The bakelite has no cracks of chips. Pickup puts out a strong signal.
As you probably know these bakelite-bodied guitars can not be made in the USA and some other nations due to environmental restrictions because of the chemicals used in the making of the bakelite .
International shipping to Canada, Japan, Australia and most European countries is fine but the buyer will bear an additional cost as I can not ship by US Postal Service since they will not insure for the full amount. Therefore, I will need to ship via Fed-EX or UPS.
This guitar ships from Minnesota and can be sent now. (It is not in China )
Price dropped to $620 plus shipping and insurance to lower 48 states
I saw John Limbach's listed on the Forum which just sold and this is what he said Rick Aiello had to say about the pickup on John's Rickenbacher:

Very nice Rickenbacher 1947 B6. No case. In March of 2015 Rick Aiello repaired the pickup, recharged the magnets to 230 gauss mid gap, and replaced the pots and cap. Rick commented that in his opinion the "...T-Logo 1.25" pickups are the best of all the horseshoes." He's the expert, so I'll take his word for it.
NOTE: the Rickenbacker which is for sale in this ad is on the left in the photos. The Aloha lap steel is on the right. Thanks, stevet

| That Rick bakelite is a '47-'48 year, with the T logo plate FYI. Rick didn't supply black cover plates, so those were likely painted white plates. |

Bill, Thanks for your post; would you please refer me to the sites where you found your information to conclude that my Ricki is a '46-'47 and also rule out the possibility that the Rickenbacker had black plates on some of its Electros?
I have come across one other Electro that had black plates that looked the same as those on my Ricki. That leads me to believe the company did use black and not just white or chrome plates.

Nope, they made them like that at the factory. I owned one a long time ago, and I have seen a few others.
In George Gruhn's "Guide to Vintage Guitars" it says "Black painted plates:c. 1940", so Steve's guitar is probably early post-war. |

2. What kind of shipping do you want? GROUND or 2 OR 3 Day PRIORITY MAIL?
I would not used GROUND since it takes longer and the guitar could be damaged. I always felt the less time in shipping the better.
3. You do not need to send the funds yet. It will be better if you wait until Mark can confirm the cost of shipping. Sometimes the ONLINE cost differs from the actual cost according to the POST OFFICE.
4. Is someone hand carrying the guitar from the USA to Iceland?
