I have just walked in the door after driving 5 hours from Houston, and I have to write this note before I even unpack my guitar.

Bobby Bowman is an incredible man. I cannot recall ever meeting a man more hospitable and helpful in my life, and I feel honored to know him. In the afternoon I spent dropping off the guitar, and the few hours I spent today picking it up, I made a friend, and even if the guitar played like doo it would have been worth the trip just to meet Bobby.

However...

The guitar does NOT play like doo. What I gave him was stiff and awkward; what he returned to me (and this is not an exaggeration) plays as smooth as an all-pull.

In fact, I'll take the pepsi challenge with anybody in Texas who wants to do the A/B on their guitar and mine.

If the heavens opened and a steel guitar descended on a rainbow ferried by angels, this is what it would play like; except the angels wouldn't offer you bottled water and a brownie for the road.

Thanks to everybody who steered me towards Bobby. You did me a great service, and if I had one piece of advice to every steel player who wants to get the most out of their guitar (regardless of mechanism): give Bobby Bowman a call, and be friendly when you do.

Thank you, Bobby!!

You are correct Burton, Bobby B and Toni are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. And boy does he know how to set up a guitar! He’s fine tuned both my Carter and Zum. And how fortunate for me that he is just 20 minutes away……now if we could only find the time to visit a little more often…..that would be a real treat for Jac and I.

Looking forward to starting our project Bobby, just let me know when. Russ

Hi Bobby, Just got your CD, (Glen made a haul down here and brought it to me). Man, it is "smooth as my Daddy's Georgia cane syrup!! I played it at the office and found myself wishing I was at my steel so I could "try" to copy some moves, and tone. Just wishful thinking, you know!. Love you man. Hope you can make it to St. Louis and pick with us in the Fulawka room. Lonnie P.

Ray,,,I didn't forget you,,,I just punched the wrong button.
Well, what can I say about my shop,,,,not much! I've added a couple of more work tables, six in all now, and I've got stuff stacked up on all of them and everywhere else. I guess I should admit it,,,I'm just an old pack rat.
Thanks to everybody for the kind and nice words.
God bless,
BB
