I need to ask a question, that I used to know, but cannot remember. What does (4) ohm minimum, on a power amp, actually mean? Thanks for anyone's input! |

Since the amount of load has an effect on power output (the lower the load, the more power, and current, it puts out), once the load gets too low, it starts trying to exceed its maximum, which will cause it to overheat.
This is a gross oversimplification. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Yes, in solid state amps. In a tube amp, that's getting close: they don't like too great a load. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
