Im selling my 1968 Standel Studio X. This is a great sounding amp, with a classic vintage tone. Both steel and guitar through this amp will give you that classic 60's and 70's Nashville tone. The only cosmetic issue is that one of the control knobs is missing the silver on the front of it, but it still functions properly. $500 OBO. Buyer pays shipping.

Jerry, From what I can see I believe it says " Standel Solid state Amplifier" on the left of the panel but Its hard to make out. Maybe your eyes are better and can confirm. _________________ Mullen G2 SD10 , Lil Izzy Buffer, Goodrich 120 volume pedal, Boss DD-7, Peterson Strobo flip, Peavey Nashville 112 |

Yes, it is a solid state amp. I believe Standel was one of the first to start selling solid state amps. To my ear, it sounds and behaves more like a tube amp, but it is all solid state. Its also very light. |

How did you date this amp Patrick? I thought they had moved on to different cosmetics by '68, and that ones like this were from between '64-'66.
I have this same amp with a single 12". I've tried to stop buying Standels but it hasn't been going well. |

Brett, you might be right about that. I got the 68 date from the person I bought it from. I think there is a description for dating them on the Standel website, but I don't think it's very specific. |

There should be a seven digit code on the rim of the Jensen speakers, that would help put it in the ballpark of when the amp was made. |

This is like the amp that is pictured on the front of a Lloyd Green album (Lloyd is sitting with his LDG guitar and amp is in background.) They are great solid state amps.
Thanx,
Jim |

Well, I guess its all relative, but I would guess around 20lbs. Thats purely a guess though. Its substantially lighter than all the other combos and heads that I own for what thats worth. |
