I heard Gill and Franklin do a duet on the Opry last night - he did a new song he wrote about Merle. Awesome performance, and Gill is supposed to be on again tonight

By "duet" do you mean Paul is singing now?

Ha ha. Singing on all 10 strings...

By the way, they were indeed on again last night, and opened the segment with "Bottle let me down" and closed the segment with the same new Gill song about Merle. While some of the opry stuff is pretty lame, I love that it's live and the solos from the house band are different each time - because they can play.

The link Peter provided above is from the Opry, Vince and Paul doing a song called A World Without Haggard.

That's right - just Vince on a Gibson acoustic and Paul on his Franklin.

Beautiful.

A pair of class acts all the way. Love these guys. I wish they were my neighbors.

As I wrote in the long Hag thread, my wife and I saw the third to last concert of his life here in Santa Rosa in February, at the same venue where I have seen Vince and Paul (and Tommy White with Vince) in the past. I feel extremely blessed to have been there that evening.
