YOWZAH!!!
What was it Jethro Burns said one time, someone asked about the cost of old mandolins. One guy said they'd bring "X" dollars, 'but a blonde will cost you a couple hundred more' and Jethro said "Ain't that the truth!"

ON these old single-10 professionals; Hard rock maple was used for the body cavity and the shelf; neck and aprons are birdseye maple.

What a color... almost makes me wanna eat it... just kidding, that´s a real stunning beauty for sure there. I´m curious, Ricky, the copedent is the same as on your LDG, right? How do the right knee levers feel with three pulls on them, since it has the racks, unlike yours?
Best regards, Joe |

Joe that a great question.
Yes James wanted my exact copedent that is on my LDG; On his Single 10 Professional, so I went for it. The knee levers actually feel about the same as my crossbars with two hole pullers; eventhough his are racks. It is the pedals that are stiffer than my LDG....and I actually didn't like the way the first pedal felt(some racks just pull better than others); so I put a crossbar in there and had two extra two hole pullers and the 1st pedal feels great now. The other two pedals pulling racks; felt fine. As for the 3 changes on the RKR on that rack..it really feels great and very similar to mine. Of course it's important on the amount of tension of the lower springs; as I go for the less amount of tension of the 2nd string lower spring as possible on the rack and more tension on the 9th string for the half stop hit....and when pulling the 7th string up a whole tone; it adds to the tension that is now lacking on the second string and it makes sure the knee goes and comes back; so it makes for a very smooth ride man.

I played our Saturday Nite Jamboree with the Bud. It played great, and I got a lot of comments on the tone. I played through my '71 twin, and my open backed Marrs cabs loaded with a D-130 and a K-130. I LOVE the tone!! |
