It doesn't look like Hal to me. Go to 5:20. Sounds great though whoever he is. Maybe one of these guys mentioned in this thread by one of Loretta's long time guitarists of 27 years. http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=176142&sid=eeed9982477dfb942fea6aa094d8188b

Real talent on that stage, no pitch correction and no screaming guitars. I don't have any idea who steel player is but very tasteful playing with great tone. _________________ Henry Matthews

I believe that's Cookie Jones. Nope, looked again, that's Larry Sasser. _________________ Henry Matthews

I miss Murph. We shared a gig night for two years at the Continental Club in Austin, and hanging with him was an education in stories of the road. One of the most exciting players ever to listen to, especially when paired with Redd Volkaert. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |

Man, don't you love that pickin'? Never saw Murph lookin' that young. First time I saw him was in the mid '70s with Vasser Clements I think. He was also blowing bebop on the sax. What a great picker!
