MEN OF STEEL
What Backing Track Players do you use for on stage
Gigs and your home practicing sessions....for Steel guitar?
Looking for units that can play MP3, MIDI, WAV?etc.
Buy tracks for country, jazz, fusion/etc. What do you recommend?
Thanks, to all.

Ed, our trio uses backing tracks which I purchase from places like "karaoke-version.com" but mostly I use midis which I edit and convert to wav files.
I play them on my laptop through a program called adobe audtion which allows me to do any final editing of the wav files as well as adjust the volume levels so they are all the same.
Adobe Audition is very much over the top for a player to just use for playing backing tracks though. You may want to just use a laptop with windows media player.
Feel free to shoot me an email and I can explain our set up in more detail as well as provide you with a plethora of links to backing tracks and midis.

A simple Windows Tablet will do the trick as well. You may have to download a "music player" APP .
Most are Android based these days and there a plenty of free APPS available.
Over that black Friday deal last Nov, I bought a low cost RCA for $70 as a backup to my IPad. I think it gets around 10 hrs on the battery charge. I deleted all of the stuff I didn't want at start-up and it's fine. I use it for lyrics and music, being MP3's/wav's. It uses a mini SD card , compatiable with any PC.
Of course you could also use an IPad . _________________ Emmons L-II , Fender Telecasters, B-Benders , Eastman Mandolin ,

Love my IPad Air for tracks....great view of your playlists and adequate power/battery life. Was using an IPod for 8+ years. Good luck with your choice...Carl |
