I have always felt that the early Poco with Messina defined a unique county-rock sound with an energy and dynamic that has not been matched in my limited experience. Nothing still sends me into orbit like Rusty and Jimmy working off each other such as the instrumental sections on DeLIVEerin or El Tonto De Nada Regressa from the second album. I just missed seeing Jimmy with Poco back in College, saw them in a later Poco reunion tour but Richie had bailed off the tour by then. Finally at Stagecoach 2009 I finally saw the "DeLiverIn" band, Jimmy, Rusty, Richie, George, and Timothy B. The review in the LA Times following their performance thae next day had a third of a page picture of them and the text: "Who needs Eagles?"
