I just found a tag that was attached either to my double six steel or my vibrolux amp that I purchased in the early 50s.
Does anyone know what the numbers represent and if it is from the guitar or amp? I never had the guitar apart so I have no clue if the serial number 0127 came from the amp or the guitar.[img]

. Thanks. |

That serial number points to a 1961 Vibrolux (6G11 or 6G11A (brown)). _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |

In all the years I've known you I've never gotten to hear you play. It's not too late.

It may well have come from the guitar but there is no need to take the guitar apart to find its serial number.
If it's a "Stringmaster style" double 6, the serial number will be under the flip-up bridge cover I think.
If it's the earlier style with the trapezoid pickups, it will be stamped on the end plate near the jack socket.
Although assembly dates/initials are hidden inside the guitar, I don't know of any Fender products that need to be taken apart to find the serial number. |

Mike,- thanks but the amp is earlier than the 60s. Not brown but tweed. Same as the guitar case.
Jeff,- thank you, too. The serial number belongs to the guitar. I never paid too much attention until I ran across the tag.
Sorry Ron,- you won't hear me play. My left arm and hand are "shot".
Mahalo to everyone,

I just realized that I forgot to ask if anyone had any idea or information as to what the letters and numbers
on the guitar tag referred to.
Anybody? Thanks.

Well, at the risk of making a guessing game out of it, maybe the 2 refers to the number of necks, the B is for blonde, the 6 is for six string, and the S-22 is for scale length 22" (short for 22.5")

Thank you, Seth.
