I've never really found any need to mess with the allen screw that is on in the aluminum neck just above the "Raise and Lower" tuners. They go direct into the changer. However, I installed a 4th pedal on my guitar which happens to be a SD10. The 4th pedal is going to lower my b strings either 1/2 or 1 whole tone. The allen screw that goes into the high 6th B string end was turned in much further than the rest of the allen screws and after installing the fourth pedal the 1st string lowered but the 6th did nothing until I wound out that allen screw. I guess my question is "How is that suppose to be set up to get it back to square one". I appreciate anyone's input who knows for sure. |

Those screws are called "split tuning screws", but they don't tune the split. They're supposed to to stop the bottom note, but won't be needed if you have the Franklin Drop. Back it out at least enough to allow the 5th string to go to A _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects |

If you bought the guitar second hand it is hard to say what has been adjusted on the guitar.
I seen a guy one day using his guitars Split tuning screws as stops on some of his string lowers. He said they were more precise than the nylon nut adjustments. Good Luck and Happy Steelin |
