Would love to hear your idea of how I can get this sweet sound on my Emmons Push-Pull using my equipment listed on my profile.

Thanks for any advice you can give.

First, select the single coil operation mode of your Pentads.
Second, pick out over the neck, well away from the pickup.
3rd, instead of cutting around 1000Hz, give about 3 to 6 dB of boost around 700 (as a guess. I can hear more mids than most of us use).
4th, roll the presence back to about 3 to 6dB of cut, and run the highs up a bit more to compensate for the reduced presence.
5th, unless you have a nice subtle reverb patch in your Lexicon, you won't need it, just a touch of amp reverb.
Are there any videos of you playing your rig, and how do you currently have your knobs set? _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Thanks, Lane. I'll give it a try when I get back home this weekend. Not too good at posting videos, but I can take pix of my settings. _________________ 1979 Emmons D-10 P/P 8X5, Lawrence L-710 Pickups, Li'l Izzy, Telonics Volume Pedal, Goodrich Super Sustain Matchbox, Lexicon MX200 Dual Reverb Effects Processor, Peavey Vegas 400 Amplifier. |

Without hearing your sound, your settings won't matter much. The hands play such a major role in tone. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

you could possibly get an even better sound with your emmons. i would get rid of the pentad pickup and get stock emmons single coils, though.
and i'd use a backup track with real musicians. that one is a little lifeless. |
