A steel-playing friend of mine is visiting New Orleans for a few days - any good New Orleans steel teachers out there?

I don't know if Don Vappie plays steel, but he is brilliant on guitar, tenor banjo, bass, mandolin, and just about anything else--a real jazz artist. If he plays steel, he would be the man to see. Other than him, I would not know who to call.

Dave Easley lives on the other side of Lake Pontchartrain. He's the guy I would call.

I knew Don and as far as I know he didn't play steel.

When i was living there the top pedal steel player was Johnny Bonvillian
