I've been offered a used Emmons but want to know a bit more about it before I buy it.

The serial number is 224-BR.

Does anyone know the age of this guitar and whether it's a student model or not. It looks pretty nice from the pictures. The only problem is that it only has two knee levers.

What I really want to know is if it would be possible to add extra knees in. Thanks in advance.

From searching on the forum I think it's a Emmons Black Rock which, I think, is a push-pull (not sure though).

Is this a good guitar, particulalry for a beginner. Is a push-pull good to start with?

Does that mean it is a Black Rock or it is a good guitar?

If the Push Pull is correctly set up, it should present no problems to a beginner. However, if it needs looking at, and it probably will, make sure you know what you're doing, or take it to someone with mechanical aptitude.

Richard, do you know of anyone in the UK who can do repairs and add knee levers? Could Gerry Hogan do it?

Daniel,
Ronnie Bennett has a real good reputation as being a builder and repairer.
Sorry I do'nt know how to contact him but you might try the British Steelies web site,
I am sure Ted Nesbitt at Rainbow music will have a number for Ronnie, send Ted an E mail he is a very helpful person.
Best of luck
Billy

Dave Wiggins in Essex is a bit closer to you, Daniel. I found his name on the net, but no other details. Look in the British Steelies Society website.
