Forumite Steve Paris in Los Angeles uses one, although I think his may be heavily modded. |

I have a KB 30 that sounds very good with steel. I have a friend that comes over once in a while and he brings a DD3 (I think ) for reverb and he says that it sounds close to his PV1000. Small and light and can be put into system and use as a steel moniter. Spelling bad. Bob |

The early Bandit (pre-Transtube) and 'Special' series make fairly good steel amps (a speaker substitution is advisable however). Both of these models show up quite often on our local Craigslist at bargain prices. |

That's an oldie amp, and while it will certainly suffice, I find that Peavey amps with a mid-shift control do better that those without one (for pedal steel). The mid-shift controls the voicing, and with only one pickup, we sometimes need all the help we can get for tailoring a good sound. |
