I've got a night off in Austin this Thursday, and I've never gotten to spend time there before... Any advice on music to hear?
Thanks Everyone!

My friend Craig Kinsey is playing Lambert's downtown this Thursday. Doors at 9:30. Craig is very entertaining and he will have Kelly Doyle on telecaster, who plays cooler pedal steel licks than most of us have dreamed of. He is an insane guitar player. I highly recommend that show.
There will be steel players at Ginny's and broken spoke. Bob Hoffnar and Herb Steiner can direct you on those. The hipster country scene is at the white horse. It's pretty fun.
I'll be in town but I'm playing a private event.

I am playing a private event thurs also. Is that the only night you are around ?
I've got my gig at Stay Gold on weds and White Horse friday. The Spoke usually has steel players but The Derailiers haven't been carrying one lately. They have the thurday spot. Alvin Crow has the thurs slot at Ginny's. Herb may be playing with him. I'm not sure.
The late band at the White Horse on thurs has a steel player. I don't know the other guys though. Thursday is a very fun night there. If you can two step at all and feel like getting into trouble that would be the place to go. _________________ Bob |

Thank you Will, and Bob as well... Yep, only Thursday Bob. We play at the rodeo on Friday, but I'll be tied up there. I sure can't two-step, but I'm looking forward to getting a taste of what Austin is about.
Thanks for the guidance!
