I'll let Bob B give the definitive answer, but the Gibson Custom Shop FB VII in white with gold would be more than double this price.. If this is a custom shop its the deal of the century..bob

I had two III's and I back in the '70s. Most of the modern Firebirds look like junk to me, but this is a very nice-looking guitar. And, let's face it, few can afford an original 60's model anymore.

No, this is not a custom shop, in the late 90's and into the mid 2000's Gibson did a run of special Firebird Reverse VII's, I had a bunch of them (working at a Gibson Dealership) most were a candy red, some see thu cherry, I'v seen one in a blue mist, and this is the ONLY white one I've ever seen, and I look for Firebirds everyday, if I'm breathin I'm hunting Firebird Reverse guitars, I looked for nearly 7 years to track this one down.. it just doesn't exist.. I should keep it, but It's time to start thinning the herd... and I don't play much anymore... this has a real ebony fingerboard , not the crap Gibson is using for Ebony (ebanol) or what ever, it has a few dings on the front..Great and rare ,rare guitar...
