i have a carter starter. what is the best pick up made. would it make a big difference to change pick up. or should i just save my money for a better steel. nothing wrong with this one or the way it sounds just thougt i would up grade it a little. thanks. sid

I would leave the Carter starter the way it is. They sound and work fine. Save your money for a pro level steel because if you keep at it you will want one pretty soon.
