Someone put a topic on the forum awhile back on how to add a half stop. Do a search and maybe you can find it. I have a copy but can't put my hands on it right now. Good luck. Paul

I never tried it with my Classic, but if you're lucky you may be able to time the 2nd string half-stop D pretty close to when the 9th string drop kicks in. That would give you the required feel.

If switching the rods around to different holes in the changer and bellcranks doesn't allow you to do this to your satisfaction, I've heard of people then experimenting with different 9th strings to fine tune the half-stop.

That's the easiest (at least the cheapest) way to get the half-stop, but I can't tell you specifically about how well this works on the Classic.
