I have searched the Internet without success to find any information on a lap steel called a Gemtone. ( it's engraved on the pickup cover )
No evidence of any headstock label ever being there.
This little thing ( and I mean little ) is really incredibly loud.
Thanks
Mike

Brad , Doug
thanks for the information and dating the guitar.
the color does look very 50's / 60's .
I just discovered another " bonus ".....
when I turn the volume right down on the guitar I swear I can faintly her a radio station on the amp.
Have heard the Japanese pick ups described as micro-phonic....I will add " radio-phonic "

Not just the Japanese....my old National amp would pick up a particular local station, loud & clear !!
That is, before I used a metal tube in place of the glass type in the pre-amp section...(6SJ7) |

Love those lap steel/crystal radio set combos. I listen to all the Cub games this way. _________________ Larry Pogreba Baritone 'Weissenheimer
