Hi Everybody!
My name is Merlin, and I live in the Nashville, Tennessee area. You can contact me with any questions at (615) 305-1186
I really only need to say this: Emmons LeGrande III with Cherry Mica finish, Double 10, 8 pedals, 5 knee levers. Serial number # 1916L
$4300 Firm plus shipping
No Games, No Gimmicks, just selling this guitar that I'm not using very often.
You won't find another guitar like this, in all your travels, from now on. TAKE A GOOD LOOK, because this guitar is going to have a new home,.......SOON.
This is a rare opportunity to own an incredible, once in a lifetime guitar. THIS IS SIMPLY ONE OF THE FINEST Pedal Steel Guitars available. This particular LeGrande III is a creampuff, and the absolute foremost "Rolls Royce of Pedal Steel Guitars". This guitar has the ultimate sound, and well designed mechanical action and "feel". It has TWO compensators or counterbalances (one on each neck bridge) VERY RARE!!!
There are certainly some other brand names that stand out as having a GREAT sound, and are well designed and executed mechanically.
BUT,.........THEY'RE NOT EMMONS!!! THIS IS THE REAL McCOY! THIS IS THE GUITAR THAT EVERYONE ELSE COMPARES THEIR GUITARS TO.
Simply put, THIS IS THE GOLD STANDARD in finely crafted, pedal steel guitars.
It is a wonderful guitar, and first and foremost, it is an Emmons. This Double 10 String has 8 pedals and 5 knee levers, and is perhaps Emmons most popular and sought after model. It is a LeGrande III, and plays great and sounds incredible. If you haven't played an Emmons, or owned one, then this is your chance.
This guitar is a great investment, and will only go up in value over a period of time, as they become more rare and harder to purchase and locate.
I don't like people that misrepresent items for sale, and I know that you don't either. This is simply a REALLY COOL pedal steel guitar, that is ready, willing, and able to entertain people, and offer a lifetime of enjoyment to it's owner.
I can tell you that this guitar isn't new, and has some very mild slight wear on it, but hasn't been abused or damaged. It is simply a good, used quality instrument.
I have great emotional attachment to this guitar, but I simply am not using it right now, and would like for someone else to be using it. It's a great guitar, and has (2) pickups installed in it.
The pickups, I am told, are Bill Lawrence 910 "Sidewinder" pickups, that are actually clean sounding single coil pickups with extremely low noise or hum, so that you get the best of both worlds, with the clean, pure sound of a single coil, and the similar traits of a humbucker for recording or detailed sound quality.
Here's what the Bill Lawrence folks say about this pickup:
" The 900 Series Sidewinder
During the past two years, we've had many inquiries for a pickup that has the sound of a single coil but without the hum. In 1972, I designed such a pickup. The patent was granted September 2, 1975 - US Patent #3902394. This was the first noisefree pickup on the market that sounded like a single coil. The pickup had a line of magnets through the center - like a single coil - and on each side of the magnets was a coil axial parallel mounted to the strings. For this reason, we called it the Sidewinder. While standard humbuckers pick up the strings at two points, the Sidewinder, just like the good ol single coil pickup, picks-up the string at one spot!
Now, the steel guitar is quite a different baby, and it requires a pickup with a totally different frequency range and sound spectrum than a guitar pickup. Early in 2000, I decided to make a Sidewinder for the steel guitar. I built the first prototypes - duplicating the sound of good-sounding single coil pickups.
Also, it was at the same time that Hal Rugg, one of the finest steel players in the scene, called me. During our conversation, he offered to help with the fine-tuning of the Sidewinder. Every week, he tested different versions in the studio and on stage. After each test, we had long conversations about minor changes to achieve the best possible single coil sound. By March, Hal introduced the Sidewinder at the Dallas Steel Guitar Show and got the highest rating for his playing and his sound! "
The case for the guitar is nice and although a bit dusty, protects the guitar well.
You can buy cheaper guitars, and you may find a guitar that plays and sounds good, but it won't be an Emmons, and it won't be THIS guitar.
God Bless you, and take care as you travel the highways and backroads of our great country.
Thanks for taking a look at this fabulous guitar!

Oh man, why am I always broke when something like this comes up. This is the Cadillac of all pull guitars as far as I'm concerned. Counter force on both necks too. _________________ Henry Matthews
