I am thinking about buying a Hilton Low profile volume pedal. I have played a goodrich 120 since I started out. Will I enjoy the Hilton. DO you?
What is there to gain or lose by switching? Thanks _________________ Mullen G2 SD10 , Lil Izzy Buffer, Goodrich 120 volume pedal, Boss DD-7, Peterson Strobo flip, Peavey Nashville 112 |

No more pot to replace, no more string to replace. |

I just recently picked up a used one and I like it a lot. It has the tone adjust and volume adjust. It's a very smooth pedal to operate and the sound is concise across the range. Of course you've got to plug it in to a power source, which, could crap out, so, I've got a spare one just in case. I'd been using a pot pedal since 76', so, this is a nice change. I'd recommend it! |

Are there any Hilton pedal to stay away from? I am about to purchase a Hilton low profile with the built in power supply. Is this an old one or just a different option? I had an early model with the large wall wart that could not be detached from the pedal.
I now have the one with the small wall wart that can be unplugged from the pedal and I find that to be a lot more convenient. |

I'd like to have one with the detachable cord, but beggars can't be choosers! It's a great pedal. |

one could probably convert , or have the pedal converted to a removable unit. _________________ Mullen G2 SD10 , Lil Izzy Buffer, Goodrich 120 volume pedal, Boss DD-7, Peterson Strobo flip, Peavey Nashville 112 |

i dunno. save your money. having to plug it in is a hassle. many top pros prefer pot pedals like your goodrich. most things don't improve your sound or performance. you make that happen just by increasing your skill. save your money.
has your g2 really made you a better player than you were on the rp? |

Jeff,
I really don't think you can convert.
I believe the original pedal used a different voltage wall wart. |

I think Keith will convert it, but it will cost $$$.
It would have been better to buy one with the detachable power supply if that is what you want.
I never really had an issue with the attached power supply model. Used it on the road for several years. I have a spare power supply but have never had to use it.
But, I like the detachable one as it is easier to pack in my steel seat. |

I switched to Hilton and wouldn't go back if the others were free..
I used to carry a spare, not anymore. I use the old pot pedals at home.
Mine has a hard wired transformer and a fixed pin adapter plate.. and Keith has upgraded it to newest specs with a led light. |

Thanks guys.
Im exited to try it!
Chris,
I never expect gear to improve my playing, just my mood. I enjoy playing high quality gear.
The G2 is Far superior tone wise to the RP. I should specify string seperation especially.
I don't need to convert my Hilton but It would be more convenient. _________________ Mullen G2 SD10 , Lil Izzy Buffer, Goodrich 120 volume pedal, Boss DD-7, Peterson Strobo flip, Peavey Nashville 112 |

Well after anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Hilton Vol. Pedal it finally came.....
BROKE! I tried everything and cannot get sound out of it. The power supply must be toast. Or the cable was damaged in shipping. Sucks it doesn't have a power light on it so I can tell if its getting power.
I swapped in my goodrich and I got sound so it has to be the pedal or power.
Any Suggestions?

BTW,
The wall wort on this Hilton pedal is made by Motorola? Is that normal from Keith or was this replaced at some point? Thanks _________________ Mullen G2 SD10 , Lil Izzy Buffer, Goodrich 120 volume pedal, Boss DD-7, Peterson Strobo flip, Peavey Nashville 112 |

Jeff-- is sad to see that someone has sold you a pedal made before 2007 that needs repair. It is really unfortunate that people can't be honest when selling used equipment. I guess money is more important to some people than being honest. To me being honest is more important than money! Jeff, I sent you a message concerning my repair policy. The pedal you have bought used was made sometime between 2000, and 2007. Hope this information helps. |

I'm hoping he didn't do this on purpose. Maybe something happened during shipment. _________________ Mullen G2 SD10 , Lil Izzy Buffer, Goodrich 120 volume pedal, Boss DD-7, Peterson Strobo flip, Peavey Nashville 112 |

Jeff, more than likely there was a "REASON" why the person sold you the pedal. In the last 19 years of building pedals I can not ever remember one single pedal being damaged in shipping. If you paid with a credit card, or Pay Pal, you can ask for a refund from the person who sold you the pedal. |

Keith, just a thought...if the plastic "grid" falls off, will the pedal operate at all? |

Donny, thanks for your thoughts. I doubt that is the problem. I actually repair pedals for "LESS THAN" the cost of a POT in an old POT PEDAL. Jeff is learning a good lesson--buyer beware! Nowdays most stuff can't be repaired--but my product can be repaired. A lot of music gear is made in China and can't be repaired. If you don't believe that try returning something to China for repair. I do repair pedals--even pedals dating back to when I first started making them 19 years ago. |

looks to be physically in fine shape. just doesn't work. The seller is refunding my money. Shame, cuz I like the profile of the pedal. Wish I could have heard it.
Donny,
The Grid is still intact. Nothing seems out of place. Heck the pedal even makes the amp pop when I unplug the wall wart. Which I think should mean its getting power. I just get no sound from it . Ive tried the off setting on the bottom, the tone, new cables, new wall outlets, different amps, different guitars. My pot pedal works but this Hilton won't. _________________ Mullen G2 SD10 , Lil Izzy Buffer, Goodrich 120 volume pedal, Boss DD-7, Peterson Strobo flip, Peavey Nashville 112 |
