I want to buy this amp but both volume pots are scratchy when turned. They both were cleaned to no avail. This is the one made in 96 that has a steel and guitar channel. I don't mind the scratch but if it is predictive of some larger problem I don't want it and some say it may be an issue in the output stage. Also the output tube sockets need re tetensioning so I don't know if that would be a contributing factor.
If anyone can guide me that would be great

How did they clean them? The chassis must be removed to do a proper pot cleaning - just taking off the knob and spraying the pot shaft doesn't cut it. Winking

They said they pulled the chassis but I have to take them on their word. Why are they wrong? I'm curious only because I was wondering how they drew that conclusion myself
