I never played lap steel, but I would like to tune my acoustic guitar to play along with a slide on this:

It's a IV form chord... like an A chord in first (open) position. Best to tune down instead of up, so tune down your first, fifth, and sixth strings two frets to give an open G.

Thank you, Stephen. I caught that lick at 1:22 when it goes from F# to B. Going from the eleventh to the fourth fret on the first two strings. Sounds good!
