I've been working on this one for months but it's finally at the printers! Copies are expected to ship the week of August 25th but can be purchased in advance if desired. The tunes are a mix of Hawaiian, jazz, and pop standards.

18 Arrangements in B11th Tuning

This is an 83-page, 8.5" x 11", spiral-bound (to lay flat) book of arrangements for 6-string lap steel in B11th Tuning:

(Hi to Low) E C# A F# D# B (for just the song Nuages, the 6th string is tuned to C#).

All the songs are playable on any version of 8-string B11th you prefer.

TO PRE-ORDER THE BOOK:

* TO HEAR MIDI FILES OF ALL THE ARRANGEMENTS:

http://volkmedia.com/Volkmedia.com/B11_Audio.html

* Please note: MIDI offers an imperfect approximation of the sound of an electric lap steel. Most of these are electric guitar patches. A clarinet patch sometimes gets closer to the sound of a steel, but gets muddled on close-voiced chords so I stayed with guitar patches. I played every song as they were arranged but don't have the time to create high-quality, professional steel performances with backing tracks. So MIDI serves my purpose of letting you hear how the arrangements sound. The intent was not to get too complex and to leave lots of room for people to add and or change these arrangements. Each arrangement has a blank page following it for less visual clutter and a place for you to write your notes and ideas.

THE SONGS:
Back at the Chicken Shack:
Bali Ha’i
Blue Wind
East of the Sun (and West of the moon)
Fire and Rain
Hana
Mapuana
Midnight Sun
Nani Waimea
No Ke Ano Ahi Ahi
Nuages
Off Shore
Poinciana
Sand
Steelin’ the Chimes
Summertime
Sweet Georgia Brown
Wear a Lei

Nice to see a book of B11 material available! I got my copy of the C6 book last week and it looks great. I had to leave for a short tour the day it arrived but I'm looking forward to digging into it this week.

Andy
I must be doing something wrong, but when I click on the link for the sound files, it sounds like several tunes playing at once. If you have the time, let me know what I might be doing wrong. Thanks in advance.
I will be ordering the book soon !

Not sure, Larry. It could be it takes time for the sound files to load. My guess would be that if you click on one, hear nothing, and then try to click on others, they all eventually catch up and start playing when they've fully loaded.

Anyone else have this issue? I'm using an old version of iWeb to admin my site and it may have issues due to it's age and imperfection.
