I just got a new g2 Mullen with tunable splits
Do the split screws come into play when tuning the guitar even on strings where splits aren't being used? I have a Franklin pedal lowering 5 6 & 10 a whole tone on zero pedal. Also lower 6 a half step with right knee left. When i turned the split screw out it affects both lowers . is there a certain procedure to follow when tuning a steel with split screws? I can probably figure it out but I'm at work and have a gig tonight so id like some responses to get a jump on it. Thanks hope i didn't confuse anyone. _________________ Mullen G2 SD10 , Lil Izzy Buffer, Goodrich 120 volume pedal, Boss DD-7, Peterson Strobo flip, Peavey Nashville 112 |

Been there, asked that.
You can't get both the full step lower and the tunable split. The split tuning screw will limit the lower and will not allow the full Franklin lower. It's an either/or thing. |

"Split screws" are for max lower only - shouldn't be called "split screws" really.
If you want "intermediate splits" - as on B strings with additional "Franklin change", you will have to add split-rods for those regular splits, and adjust the "split screw" for the "Franklin change". |

Are you saying i can't get the Franklin Lower one pedal 1 and a half step lower on right knee left? I don't necessarily need splits. _________________ Mullen G2 SD10 , Lil Izzy Buffer, Goodrich 120 volume pedal, Boss DD-7, Peterson Strobo flip, Peavey Nashville 112 |

Back off the split tuning screw all the way and there should be no problem, as long as the guitar is setup for a full step lower (proper rodding/puller holes). Note that it is a difficult (not impossible) pull with a wound 6th string on many guitars. |

No problem, as long as you don't need a split for the half-step lower. Adjust the "split screw" for the Franklin lower, and adjust the nut on the regular half-step lower rod from your knee lever for that half step. |

Gotcha. I'll figure so long as the Franklin Lower is achieved i can just tune rkl normally as mentioned.
