with the guitar in case, look at your raise fingers, strings 4 and 3 are the furthest "back" towards the endplate (or should be), this illustrates they travel the farthest to stop at the body for a complete raise, thus requiring the hook to be put in the hole closest to the axle as Mark said, the pull will be stiffer naturally as more work is being done. I spend time tweeking 2 raises on one pedal so I can get rid of the equalizing springs on the collar end of the rod near the bellcrank eliminating the mushy feel, I also remove the return spring on the cross shaft, for example, my 3rd pedal "floats", when I activate my 4th and 8th string lower KL, my 3rd pedal comes back up. |
