Hi Samuel. I've heard this steel is as is, with respect to copetent. Is this true? I need to modify the right knee lever to pull both Es a full step to F#.

Unless this is a unique one, Stage One's are fixed and the copedant cannot be altered.

I'm assuming it has this setup:

Lol. I'm thinking if everyone felt that way we'd all still be playing lap steels.

Agreed, Charles. I love looking at different copedents, trying out new things. It's akin to being a kid in a candy shop, lol.

I do believe the Stage One's are fixed in place from the factory though, meaning the copedent cannot be switched, unless you are a mechanic and have the proper tools for modifying it.

Anything can be changed, maybe just not that easily without a welder, lol.

Charles - if I'm not mistaken, Stage Ones don't have reversers on the right moving knee levers. It's a pull-release changer so those levers (LKR, RKR) would only be capable of lowers unless you added some aftermarket parts

Sam, I can't believe your still trying to sell this StageOne. I just sent an e-mail off to Doug, about the Encore and the StageOne. I have owed a StageOne for about 7 years and loved it. Played everything I needed. If his answer come back, and that steel is still not sold, I will buy it. I have a Mullen Discovery right now, and it doesn't play, or sound one bit better, then the StageOne. I have played since 1985, and all types of set-ups.

Sam, got the information back from Doug. I have ordered a new Encore, so won't be buy your steel. I will say again, the StageOne is an Excellent guitar. As I also said, I have a Mullen Discovery, the case is bigger on it then one the StageOne. My wife and I are going to be traveling in our motorhome, and I needed to get a smaller one. So, I'll most likely be selling my Mullen. Good luck.
