Hi folks,

I have an older (late '60s or early '70s) Emmons S-10, in the rosewood-formica finish.

It's been working fine until recently.
However, all of a sudden, the A pedal started to stick and not travel freely.

I investigated underneath the guitar, and it seems like the A-pedal cross shaft is shifted over and the pedal stop is rubbing against the inside of the body.
I can manually yank it over and then it works fine while I'm holding it, but when I let go it goes back to pressing against the body again.

What to do? Is there an adjustment or a locking screw/ring somewhere to fix the position of the cross shaft?

Emmons gurus, hoping you have some insight for me!

Thanks,
Martin

You can remove the crossbar and put a small spacer type washer in the hole on body where cross bar goes into. That should prevent it from moving against body. Also, according to how cross bar brackets are mounted, you can use a collar with a set screw to prevent it from moving in.
Another way would be put a washer on back side of cross bar between where pedal connects and guitar body.

Maybe the spring is broken inside the bracket that holds the cross shaft to the side of the guitar. Put a longer spring in there to create more resistance to the cross shaft from moving side to side.
