I added an inside LKL to the back neck of my Carter, and retuned it to D6 to match my Desert Rose S-8. Here's the updated copedent chart for your enjoyment.

Cool. I might have to try that D6. Sometimes the low strings on the C6 clash with the bass player, which I seem to play next to in some of the bands I play with.

Yeah, I never need notes that low. My 8-string goes down to E, and sometimes I think I could use a D, but any lower than that is in the bass player's space.

One advantage of D6 is that if you raise the middle F# to G (see my P4), you have the open strings of the dobro G tuning. That comes in very handy now and then on bluegrass tunes.

I like the timbre of D6th. It seem to cut through the mix better.

On the dobro tuning, does the A string cause any problems?

D-6TH instead of C6TH.............never thought of this change over, not a bad thought after all.

Maybe I'll try it.

No, it actually help to add space on bar slants. I'm used to it. I don't actually play Dobro, so I don't have any muscle memory to overcome in that respect.

Easier bar slants. That's cool. I do have a pedal, that along with one of my knee levers (normally p7) gives me a G tuning. But using just one pedal would be nice.
