Folks,
Attached are pics of the tone control circuit on my Excel guitar. Could somebody please look at the pics and help me identify its functionality?
(The yellow and black wires are coming from the pick-up)

Switch looks like a mute switch.

Wiper of pot has cap to ground to bleed of some highs.

Need the tail of that wire sticking through the wiper of the pot trimmed (center lugO) because right not it looks to be touching the pot (grounding) or could.

The switch just bypasses the tone control. As Mark said, need to trim off the loose tail of the cap on the wiper lug.
