Earlier this year,I ordered a new Twin Reverb Custom 15.Although it arrived in excellent shape and sounds just as nice as I expected, the normal channel is considerably quieter than the vibrato channel. Is this normal?

I bought it because I wanted an amp with two channels for gigs where I play both six-string and steel without having to carry two amps, but turning the normal channel on a a Fender Twin up to 6 or 7 to get acceptable stage volume(and I'm NOT a loud player)seems a little off.Suggestions?

You might have a funky tube in V1?

Twins use a tone-stack for EQ, and the volume available is largely dependent on the tone settings, so the volumes will only be the same in each channel if the tone settings are close to the same. (Turn the bass, treble and middle down to zero, and you probably won't hear anything at all.)

Donny,it does do exactly that, although on my Twin, the volume seems not to attenuate as long as one of the tone controls is part way up.Lane's suggestion of a bad tube in V1 was on the money and now that amp sounds the way I expected it to.Thanks to everyone who put some thought into my problem! Very Happy
