Does anyone have a Session 2000 for sale? I love my 1000 and Pro Fex II but I hear the 2000 has it all built in and sounds better. |

I'd be surprised if you find any difference sound wise. The amp sections are the same. The difference is that the 1000 has a conventional knob based preamp built in where the 2000 does not and uses the TransTubeFex digital effects processor for preamping with all the steel program effects built in. Those programs are essentially the same as the steel programs in the ProFex.
Of course with the 1000 you have the ability to stack the internal preamp with your Profex, but that's about the only difference.
Of course with the 2000, you don't have to carry an extra piece of gear as in your current Profex setup.
Downside, the 2000's TTFex processors are 20 yrs. old and if that goes south, you have no preamp. |

Thanks. I think you convinced me to hang on to my 1000. |

I meant to reply to your other Session 2000 topic. I wasn't trying to deride the 2000 amplifier or steer you away from it. There are hundreds of Peavey processors out there still in service so they have a very good track record with proper maintenance and upgrades such as timely battery replacement or Ken Fox's batteryless mod kit.
It's just that they are so similar to what you already have.
I would imagine the unit for sale in Ken's link is worthy of consideration for anyone looking for an amplifier of that design. |
