It's odd that everyone except me prefers the original. The changes that I made to the algorithm are apparently detrimental.

| I agree with Jon. A big part of it for me is the timbre of the instruments. I just don't care for the horn sounds on the three newer cuts. For what it's worth, I don't really like the "trumpet" stop on the world's finest pipe organs either. I do like horns when they're played by human breath though. |

Jazz is people trying to be creative. If I understand what b0b is about, this is a computer being algorithmic.
Speaking as a consumer, I find my tolerance of the unexpected is greater for pitches than for rhythms. I would find the result easier to listen to* if the quantizing of rhythm were coarser.
*which may not be the aim

They are all the same algorithm, but there are a lot of random numbers in it that make every performance unique.
