Can anyone tell me where to find the serial number on my Legrande II? There's a number that looks like it's cast into the endplate at the tuning key end, but I can't tell if it's a serial number or a casting drawing number.
Thanks to all for any help you can give & regards. |

That would be the serial number. It should end with the letter L. It is stamped into the endplate. |

OK, the serial number is 1162L. Anyone know how to tell when the guitar was built? Thanks in advance. |

...and mine is from October, 2000, and is numbered 2085L - that's about 136 guitars a year, I suppose.

The serial numbers were issued as the body was built. So if you ordered a color that was not a hot seller you would get a guitar with a low serial number. Of course black out sold the others combined so there numbers would be higher. So the serial number is not the best way to determine when the guitar was assembled and shipped. We were well into the 2000's by 97'. |

During my time there from 88-99 we were shipping between 10-15 guitars per month. Some months we shipped as many as 20. During that period we were selling 160-180 guitars a year. |

A whopping big bunch of thanks to all of you folks for the information. I figure then that my Emmons Lashley Legrande II SD-10 must be from about January-February 1994 if 1152L is from December 1993. I gotta tell ya I really love this machine. (It's Royal Blue BTW) My first PSG was a Dekley S-10, but a few years back this gem came up at a real good price with the NV400 and a Pack-a-Seat all in one package (the guy that was selling it was getting un-married if-you-will). I always wondered about when it was built, now I have a better idea. Thanks again. [This message was edited by Ray Minich on 11 May 2004 at 07:37 PM.] |
