I am nearly finished the woodwork and was wondering if the reverb tank works OK up close and personal to the power transformer?
Has anyone done this mod and got it to work OK?
Many thanks,
Murray.

I use a NV400 in a head only cabinet with the spring reverb tank also. I have built a dozen or so of these for other people.

With the reduced space in the head cabinet, the tank is more subject to interference and hum from proximity to the transformer. I find you have to experiment with the placement of the tank. Sometimes, moving it just a small amount. In some cases, we have had to rotate the tank 180°. I've seen a few situations where the hum could not be completely eliminated at high reverb settings, but never had a case where it wasn't acceptable.

Hi Jerry,
I'm going to use it to drive a bass bin next weekend, so I'll have a fiddle with it after that. Thanks for the advice.
Cheers,
Murray.
