I am no ZB expert, but the keyhead and changer appear to be more modern than other ZBs I have seen.

This is intriguing because Tom Brumley personally played an 11-string setup. The Mullen 11 string guitar Tom used on the IN TIME album was specially built by Mullen to set the knee-levers at an angle (a-la Sho Bud).

So it leads me to wonder about the provenance of this axe.

Can anyone comment on Tom's copedent?

Don't know about Toms setup but that ZB is the custom. Tom did away with the horns on changer and key head to shorten guitar and save a little weight. I think the customs sound better than the older ZB's and definitely play better. This is a real nice ZB.

thank you my friend, I was kidding about this being a Toms personal guitar, but I'm beginning to wonder if maybe it really was, or someone ordered new guitar, that was set up exactly like his hmmm

The set up is close to Tom's but not quite there. Had this been one of Tom's personal guitars it would have 7 knee levers at the time this guitar was built. There is also hardware on this guitar for a 4th pedal. Can't tell from the pics, but it looks like this guitar has solid aluminum changer fingers instead of the little "C" top roller that so many had. The changer is the same as earlier ZB's. The nut rollers are larger and have a smaller axle than previous models. A BIG improvement over the old ones. As someone stated, this is the "Custom" model that they built in Texas. They still built guitars in the older style with the "horns" and called them the "Legend" model. This is a very nice guitar and appears to be in pretty darn nice condition. Wouldn't mind having it myself but I have too many ZB's now including one of Tom's personal guitars.

Beautiful guitar Damir. Great looking under carriage too. Twenty years back I would have already had this on its way to my house. The ZB has a sound like no other guitar. I never get tired of listening to Tom's music. I think this style guitar was probably the best he ever built. Good luck on your sale. J.R. Rose

Greg, thank you for all the info, I don't know almost nothing about ZB guitars, and every little bit of information is welcome.... JR, thank you for kind words, it is a special guitar, I thought it was modified, but it turned out it is factory original, custom guitar...
