I am in the process of buying a Fender pedal steel from a Canadian forum member.. Problem is, shipping from Canada over the border is a fortune, and from what I understand, you need a damn passport these days to drive into Canada. I was going to drive up and get it, but it looks to be a major headache logistically..

I was wondering if a forum member from upstate NY near the border that regularly drives into Canada, or a Canadian member that comes to the NY side a lot could pick it up for me.. It would be paid for already, and then we could simply meet up at some place in or near buffalo, or thereabouts.. I would pay for any gas you might use, and buy you lunch, and regale you with great bs about steel guitars... I know its a long shot, but we do have some members in that area that might be able to help out,... It would be well appreciated!... bob

Bob, I'm only an hour or so from Buffalo, and an hour and a half from Niagara Falls. Maybe we can work something out and I'll bring it along my next trip down to see you. I might even try it out for you in between! We can talk off forum and set something up. If someone can get it across the border, I can take it from there.

I'm happy to help Bob. Just let me know. Then we can meet in person. I look forward to that, believe me!

btw, this matter was taken care of for me by my friend, forumite Don Brown from the Rochester area. He met up with the seller at Buffalo, had lunch with him, chatted a while, and picked my steel guitar up. I will drive up to his place soon to pick it up.. Don takes lessons from me, and is doing great, and has become a friend. A genuinely nice guy. I owe him a debt of gratitude... bob
