I just thought I'd share that I received a new Fender Champion 100 (solid state, two channels, 2x12", 100W, Twin-like tone circuit), and I plugged it in to try before Christmas...
I know; I'm bad! But, the amp really surprised me! It's not an expensive amp, and has more power than my Nashville 112s... I'm gonna enjoy using it when and where I can.

Hey David,
Interesting you bring this amp up. The lead Player with one of the bands I work with brought a Fender Mustang to rehearsal about six months ago for a inexpensive amplifier the thing is amazingly surprisingly good. He normally uses a custom tube amplifier made by John Haas. I did look up the specs on the fender amp you are referring to and noticed that like the Fender Mustang it has modeling capabilities. Kind of giving me the idea that the modeling capabilities of these amplifiers might be overlooked as compared to more traditional avenues that I've certainly travel down. I really enjoy the tube amps that I have presently but these new generation of solid-state type modelers are indeed interesting. Probably not too heavy?

40 lbs, and I like the clean 'Twin-like' channel for steel / clean Tele tones, and then I can set the 2nd channel (that has amp modeling) to stuff that works better for my overdriven slide tones.
I think it's going to be a usable, fun combo amp for small club gigs.
I keep learning all the time, there are many tools that work for the job, and the most important thing is the notes i actually play... Ha!

I have used a Fender Cyber Twin for about 15 years. Great guitar amp but only ok for pedal steel. IMHO Fender really got it right with their modeling amps. The Mustang amp is a phenomenal amp for the price. It is good to hear that this new series of fender modeling work well for pedal steel. Fender is really doing working musicians a service by making these amps available at a reasonable price.
