Warren, that was the late great Weldon Myrick. Weldon was the staff steel player on the Grand Ole Opry for over 30 years and you should see his resume. The page is very long with big name artists he played behind on the Opry and sessions. Weldon Myrick career got jump started when he played on the Connie Smith song "Once A Day". Listen to Johnny Bush version of "Whiskey River" and hear Weldon play some hot licks that are just awesome. I understand he was a first class gentleman as well. |

Warren, Weldon was quite an influence on me when I first started playing, along with Buddy and Hal Rugg I wore out just about everything they ever recorded :-}
