Its an ETS with 4 and 5.. I added pedal 4.. It works fine. but is a Carter pedal as I could not find an ETS pedal.. Same size, just a little different shape... New, with 3 and 5 an ETS was in the $2000 range.. This one is VERY lightly used.. Pro mechanism w and 3 up 3 down changer that has Bud Carters "fingerprints" all over it, God rest his dear soul.
I have seen guys getting around $1400 for say a Zum Encore, and I would say this is at least equal to that in quality... Think thats a reasonable price?... I might be listing it here, not sure as yet, as I have been having better luck selling high end stuff like amps and steels locally for some strange reason ... In any case, I have seen none of these ETS guitar sell here used and have no referrence,.. is $1400 a fair price for a lightly played ETS??... bob _________________ I'm over the hill and hittin'rocks on the way down!

Thanks Mike.. I did a careful search and did find one that sold at $1450, That one was 3 and 5, so I am in the zone for one with 4 and 5.. Not quite sure as yet what I am going to do.. Its a REALLY nice guitar, but my heart is still in finding the right S10 Sho Bud that will stay in tune, and I simply do NOT need 3 pedal steel guitars at this point... Now at least i have an idea what it should sell for.. bob _________________ I'm over the hill and hittin'rocks on the way down!

I'd guess that it should sell quickly at 14. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects |

Bob, all I can say, is I wouldn't sell mine for anything close to that. I have a factory original 4x5, I believe they only made 2 with that configuration. Anyway, I know there aren't too many ETS out there, I've definitely bonded big time with mine. I also have an old 'Bud that I do gig and record with, so I can relate to the magic allure of Shot & Bud's wonderful beasts, but the ETS has been getting more stage/road work lately from me, using both almost equally for tracking. Mind you, I'm not favoring the ETS because of any stability issues with the Sho-Bud, Jim Palenscar put mine in tip-top shape, stays in tune for weeks/months with very little need to adjust the nylon nuts, all stops and returns consistent. The ETS is so light and compact, definitely part of why it tends to be the one I grab and go with most frequently, but it also sounds great, excellent sustain and note separation, smooth mechanics, easy to adjust.
Not meaning to hijack your thread, just an impassioned lover of the ETS, very sorry for the tragedy that ended that venture. Best of luck with the sale, if and when you choose to do so, someone will be getting a great steel! And hope you do find the Sho-Bud you're looking for!
All the best,

how many steel guitars does one good guy need?)
"His prices are insane!"

I found ten that were sold in the last 3 years, ranging from $1450 up to $2100 (the "new" price). Only one was a 4+5, and it went for $1700 back in 2012...but values are up since then (just look at the recent rise in the older MSA's). What you get depends largely on how fast you want to sell it. On the low end (for a quick sale), I'd ask $1400. And on the high end, around $1600-$1800. |

Thanks Donny, don't know how you found ten of them!... In any case, I will now have a good idea what I should sell it for....bob _________________ I'm over the hill and hittin'rocks on the way down!
