Hi!
Any good tips on gigbag or lightweight case for my carter starter S10 psg..?
I know Carter makes cases for them, but they only ship with BAX Global, and the shipping with BAX to Norway is way too much (Case $75 & Shipping $132 ! )
Maybe a padded keyboard bag could be just what i need, but i figured someone on this forum may have had any experience with this?

I use a padded keyboard bag for my carter starter. It's alot sturdier than the one that comes with the guitar. Although it's no match for a real hardwood case.

I put a couple of the foam blocks that came in the shipping package in the bottom, so it kind of secures it in place, and allows for some space in the bottom to put the legs and rods. I cut a strip of foam the length of the carter over which I place the pedal board. Everything else goes in a back pack (drummer stool, volume pedal, etc.)

I don't remember where i got it, but i remember it was too small for my 61 keys Yamaha cs1x keyboard, so i never used it. But when I tried it for the carter starter, it was perfect. I would highly recommend anyone with a carter starter to upgrade to this type of gig bag, as the one included is kind of crappy and won't protect it at all if your taking it out on gigs and stuff.

Well think about it, better pay a little more and have your guitar arrive in one piece. That price doesn´t seem that much to me. Last year I paid $300 to have a D-10 shipped from Austin to Munich via FedEx and they did a great job so I didn´t regret it.
For such a long journey, I wouldn´t use anything but at least a hardshell case that has to be additionally packed safely. Don´t expect they will handle the box gently at the airports.

Good luck, Joe H.

I would go with Bax Global - the price also covers insurance etc...and that's pretty cheap -- $250 approx to New Zealand for a D10 --- and it would arrive in one piece.

I carry my Williams S10 keyless in a Mooradian keyboard case.John Widgren helped make a solid internal frame out of styrofoam, and my girlfriend lined it with velour. It's like a hard case interior in a soft shell.I take it around NYC on the subway, but still use the hard case for travel.
